A man was left in a critical condition this afternoon after an apparent hit-and-run on the M26 in Gerardsville outside of Pretoria.
ER24 paramedics, along with another service, arrived on the scene and found both the biker and his vehicle lying 20 metres away on the side of the road.
On assessment, paramedic found that the man had sustained numerous injuries, including a severe head injury, leaving him in a critical condition.
Paramedics immediately began their treatment and provided the patient with numerous advanced life support interventions.
Once treated, the patient was transported to a nearby private hospital for urgent treatment.
The vehicle that hit the biker was apparently not found on the scene.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
