I ride a 990 Adventure s with just over 85 000km. The back brake pads are still more than 1/2 left and yet when braking hard with the 3rd of 4th hard braking no brakes, nothing, nada.
Similar when you have ridden a long way with boot toe accidently on the pedal and the brakes heated up.
No leaks of brake fluid so I suspect air in the system - not very knowledgeable about these things but I try to learn. I haven't fiddled with the brakes except when checking to see if fluid level ok. The little black rubber jobbie inside the brake dingetjie/metal holder was not covered with fluid but the little glass window on the side showed there is enough fluid in. Could this be the problem?
