I recently discovered this little gem, Oppi Rooiplaas, on the R543 (dirt road) between Vrede and Volksrus. I did an article on it for the latest edition (June / July) Weg Ry&Sleep and the English cousin Go Drive&Camp. So go out and buy the damn magazine and ensure that the journalists still have a job tomorrow 
Here’s the low down:
Small campsite on the banks of the Klipriver, far away from any humans.
Whole camp about the size of 2 standard campsites in a resort.
You can book the whole place for yourself, so no other guests.
Caravan with four beds.
Two bathrooms, each with a shower (gas geyser), basin and toilet.
Large undercover kitchen area.
Lekker boma braai next to river.
Lekker lekker roads to ride in the area.
And many many more, so go buy the freeking magazine (in the article there is info on a 180km circle route, mostly dirt, that I’ve done via Volksrus, Newcastle and Memel).
