So, yesterday afternoon I took off the sprocket cover to see what sprocket is fitted and the tooth count. It was a major battle to get the cover off, and once we had it off, the reason reveals itself. Its fitted with a 16t 650R sprocket, and it quite big to fill the cavity.
On the rear a 42t sprocket is fitted, giving the XR very long gearing.
I am planning to fit a 15t front sprocket and keep the 42 rear, so as to have slightly longer legs than stock.
