Here's a gem of gravel pass with a big altitude loss/gain tucked away at the back of a deep valley behind Bo-Piketberg. It's not really a 4x4 route (except in wet weather) but the ride offers a fabulously scenic round trip via the Versfeld Pass all the way back to Piketberg via the village of Goedverwacht. This sleepy little backwoods village has a story to tell of a farmer from 1810 who decided to leave his farm to his female slave. Nou ja toe! The whole story can be read on the website here:
