We're planning to ride all the Kzn/FS/Mpuma berg passes we can over a 3 day weekend. Please let me have any advice/suggestions/secret routes you can offer !
Itinerary :
Day 1 - Oliviershoek, down Bezuidenhouts (S28 32.490 E29 12.537), up Middledale (S28 28.824 E29 19.400), down what Google shows to be a road at (S28 28.223 E29 22.277), overnight at Wyford.
Day 2 - up Van Reenens (yuch !), down the railway road (thanks GundaGunda), up De Beers (S28 18 53.4 E29 29 52.8) using district roads to avoid the roadworks as much as possible (does anyone know worthwhile ones ?) down Collings (S28 13 01.7 E29 38 22.2) up Normandien (S27 58 32.8 E29 42 02.4) down Mullers (S27 52 00.2 E29 42 36.8) up Bothas (S27 37 53.6 E29 43 11.2) north of Majuba along the S465 to overnight at Volksrust, visitng the old railway tunnel at the top of Laings Nek (S27 27 49.6 E29 52 32.7) along the way.
Day 3 - along R543 to Wakkerstroom but turn off & loop around the Slangriver Dam before coming back up to Wakkerstroom and then down via Burgerspass to Utrecht. This area should be packed with passes, but the map says not.
