Hi all,
We are a group of friends who planned to cycle down from Johannesburg to Durban over 4 days at the end of October, with the last day being the Amashova Cycle Race from PMB to Durbs. We were notified today that the Amashova Route was changed, thereby necessitating a change to our route and plans.
It seems that the R74 from Colenso to Prince's Grant on the coast (via Greytown, KZN) could work for us. Do any of you know what the current state of this road is and the kind of traffic it carries? We'll be on road bicycles (i.e. we have to be on tar) and we'll be followed by safety vehicles, just to give a bit more context.
Any Wilddogs living in that area (Greytown, KZN)? Any advice will be appreciated!
