My eerste bike. Het die XT gekry in Des 2014. Lank gewag en gedroom oor n bike. My familie het my amper onterf. Hierdie foto was geneem op my eerste bike trip. Van clanwilliam na Hanover en Middelburg Kaap. So 1600km round trip. En die XT het net geloop en geloop en geloop en geloop....

Didn't know those 50, 4 stroke Honda's had reed valves back in the day. Proves you are never too old to learn something new.

My first bike was a Yamaha TY50, learnt to ride on it and learned to fight.

The old man bought one bike between two brothers (6 and 10) living on a farm near Kentani in the Old Transkei. You can imagine the rest.

We started with the my day, your day thing, then lost the plot.

At least I was older, and didn't care if I was called a bully, I got more bike time and that was that  ;).

He did go on to become a multiple EC and Border MX Champ though. I went on to become the guy with the most crashes in a single year.

We (Dad) got rid of ours because we knew nothing about bikes. After about two years the bike was battling, no power, no speed. Not knowing anything about engines and living on a farm I (teenager) just kept cleaning carbs and air filter, changed rings.......... until we gave up and sold it.

Not even a week later this little thing comes flying past me while I was riding my horse. It had the under seat expansion box which we never knew would clog and the new owner simply took of the exhaust and decoked it, brand new bike.

I still don't think I have ever been much more pissed off ever since then, and I wish I still had it, although I wish I had every bike I have owned.

My first bike was an MT 50 - but I have always had a deep love for a 200R. Had one many years ago, sold it for some stupid reason. NOW I have just procured this ....

Mine, a Yamaha MR50. My dad swopped it for a hybrid XR125 Honda that was too big for us. This is the bike, still standing on the farm and given to Groenie, we just ahve to collect it!

The RZ belongs to my nephew.

Had a black RZ like that as my first bike in 1993

1976 Yamaha YB80. Had it for four years and did quite a few trips on it, the longest from PE to Stellenbosh over two days, because I needed it there in my student days, and my father would not pay to put it on the train.

Wow thats now bringing back some mems, tell me did you not get that model in a 50 cc as well?

My first bike in 1976 MT 250 Elsinore. I think it was the first two stroke Honda ever build, exept for the 50cc. Sadly my Dad passed away in Feb. And his garages was cleaned out. I think the bike went to the scrap heap
