arg so my eTrex  Venture HC needs to be replaced >.<

The one you bought from me? Its less than 5 years buddy, and should work very well!

The 5 year clause is for okes who don't know their ass from their elbow when it comes to GPS's. Some okes at the 2012 event we had to show how to switch on the device!  ::)

What fuel range will be required? Are we looking at 200/300/400 between fuel ups? The first two I can do, the third will require extra fuel for hard riding.

I think I must also check. I'll carry some fuel with me and then see how far I can go until the tank is completely empty.

Yea

I plan to do some hard training in Atlantis and Massar while I'm back, should be able to run through a tank easy enough and establish distance based on gps

The problem is that on a 690 my milage varies between 170km and 260km depending on what I'm doing.  On-off the throttle chows fuel.

Bank on full throttle and heavy sand when you work out your fuel range
