So we were out riding on Sunday on tar and one of the bikes hit one of SA finest potholes. Front Aluminum mag rim dinged and cracked so bad that it would not hold any air at all.  We are about 70km north of Bronkhorstpruit. So we find one of these township puncture repair places one the side of the road?? We are on road bikes with no spare tube as we are all tubeless and only carrying puncture repair kit for tubeless tires. Do not really want to spend the rest of the day in the sticks?
The "puncture repair engineer" takes one look at the crack and says Q Bond. Of coarse then I say, why did I not think of that? fortunately about 1 km from his "service station" is a spares shop and they have Q Bond. The rim is repaired with a 4 lb hammer to get it more or less into place and the Q Bond is used to repair the crack. We made it back to Alberton only stopping in Bronkhorstpruit to top up air.
So the moral of this story if running mags - worth keeping Q-Bond with the tools
