Quick ride before the storm

My bike has a problem that has two ways of fixing.

Up to recently I never even knew I have this problem until I went in for a small operation and couldn't ride for two weeks.

The problem is it leaks fuel when started if not ridden for a week or so.
It's a well documented problem on some of the 1000's and apparently the fix is quite easy, it can be done with some high pressure fuel hose and an hour or so's labour.

But there's another, simpler and more enjoyable fix, and just as effective.

You just don't let the bike stand that long.

So with the storm warnings yesterday and a small window of opportunity as people from Cape Town and Hermanus started posting about the heavy rains I jumped on the bike to work on the problem.

I estimated I had about an hour and decided to head into the eye of the storm, that way I would be able to turn around if things got out of hand and hopefully arrive home before the rains.

My rear tire also has a slow puncture so off to the garage to have that pumped up. Then headed out to Voorhuis and Bruintjiesrivier.

I could see the storm approaching and decided to take some photos:
