Even today, life in the remote areas of Siberia is tough, evident from Colebatch's ride reports on Adventure Rider (http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=834987). Probably one reason why the people there are so friendly and helpful to complete strangers from another world - they are used to depending on one another and having to make do with what is available.
Let's go into the mountains...there's likely to be peace and quiet

can't help but think that if they new that the freedom that they were fighting for would turn out to be nothing that they ever expected but a huge prison with secret police,executions,reeducation......

You know, a long time ago being crazy meant something. Nowadays everybody's crazy.

I can post 100's of these Russian pictures covering all of Russian culture and daily life, but that would be waaaay to much effort!!!

So, for all that's interested, here is the site, it is flippen brilliant, you can click on any category and see all the posts on that category, also, if you click on  a photo, it will take you to a thread with lots of info and pics relating to that story......

I cannot wait for my two week trip to Russia in September!!!
