Ek weet nou nie van l/km of km/l nie maar ek kry so 350 op 'n vol tenk. Dit goed of sleg?

17l tank so 350/17=20.5km/l redelik goed ja.

Hulle ouens met 20km/l ry te stadig! :P

Kan nie 17L tank wees nie. Ek het al 19.5L gegooi as hy baie leeg was. Moet 20L dan wees.

Sorry sorry...dink aan my.blade. yes. Gs het 20L wat 4L reserve insluit. So dan is dit 350/20=17.5k/l.

I am a daily PTA-JHB commuter. Consumption varies 4.5-4.8, always better than 20km/l. My GS turns out way more economical than any of my previous e.g. 30k km on rear tyre, now 47k km on odo and still on original brake pads!!

Tjoek,
What tyre are you running on the back that gave you such good mileage?
Cheers

Nice. Reminds me of the good old days. My bike used to be able to do that but since someone in the east rand serviced my bike, the fuel consumption is stuffed. I don't get anything better now than 5.5 l/100km riding slowly (60km/h). I'm lucky if I get around 300km on a tank. I used to be able to get 400km on a tank. So each bike is different.

Decided to test my "new to me" GS yesterday and with 26km to go showing on the clock I ran out - 385km done!!

No problem, stop, get off, lean bike over to the left as far as I can, and hold it there as long as I can, stand upright again, start first time, and do another 10km to the nearest fuel station :thumleft:

I rode my 1200gs until it showed 30km fuel range left. However, when i filled to the neck it only took 15.5 liters? :eek7: This has happened a few times now.

After I installed "accelerator module" I went from average of 17.6 to 20.3 per L. Held there for 23,000 K in southern and eastern Africa. Shipped home, (USA), and I am averaging 17.3 k/l. We have this fuel standard that puts up to 10% ethanol in our fuel and it really screws the mileage on motos. Don't let them screw with your fuel and you should at least get better than you can here.

I get the same as you. When I take the long road, it is easy for me to hit 401 - 420km. This is with about 40 to 60kg on the back and riding at 135 km/h. keeping a controlled hand transfers direktly to your ecconomy. When I use the throtlelock I sometimes go up to 430km. I have also done the odd one were my my best was only 13km/h. That was from Centurion to Polokwane in earlymorning hours and it took me 55min on the old road(R101).

ss, no offence, but even an SBK bike on the hiway won't do Centurion to Polokwane in 55 minutes.

My average is 6,9 l/100 km on tar and 5,5 on dirt.

Ek het Two-up en vol gelaai vanaf Weskus tot Durban en deur die EC terug gery en 6.6 l/100 km gekry. Ek is nogal verbaas. By Kakamas was dit nog 9 l/100km en daarvandaan het dit net verbeter. In Durban was dit 6.5l/100km.

Uhm....it is very possible.

Centurion to polokwane - 250km. therefore, you need to average 260km/h.

Top speeds of Superbikes: - to name a few.
Busa top speed - 312km/h
MV Agusta F4 R  - 312km/h
Kawasaki ZX-14 - 300km/h

You won't get near an average speed of 200 km/h on a GS, let alone 260!

Was dit dieselfde trip wat jy die superbikes in die bergpas weggery het?

260km/h average on the R101 from Centurion to Polokwane, only in the movies.
