Well here it is!! The 1200GS Adventure Sidecar exclusively built for South African Adventure riding conditions. After extensive research we have resolved that the GS 1200 motorcycle and the Ural sidecar is the best combination for true adventure riding. To this end we shopped around worldwide for mounting hardware to match the two but to no avail. We decided to develop our own South African mounting hardware for African conditions and seven months later we have the answer.
The Ural sidecar is insanely comfortable especially on dirt and off road conditions and has been manufactured for the last 70 years with improvements being made all the time. The sidecar has a boot with ample packing space and there are various optional extras available like a windscreen, bash bar tawny cover etc.
The GS 1200 is legendary in adventure riding circles and combining the GS to the Ural sidecar was the obvious next step in sidecar adventure riding. There is also the option of having a disc brake on the sidecar and a trail reducer to the front end to make the steering feather light.
The riding experience is exhilarating and extremely rewarding with obvious advantages like sand, mud, loose gravel etc. not being a problem anymore as you are now riding with 3 wheels and can traverse these with comfort and speed.
There are many myths about sidecar riding as the forces are quite different from riding a solo motorcycle. These forces are to be understood and if these different forces are used to the riders advantage and you base your riding decisions around using the natural characteristics of the sidecar to your advantage and to help you steer then you can really use a sidecar to its full potential and have a huge amount of fun and fulfilment.
