Bought this rsv yesterday in Lime Acres. 2300 round trip from CT in 2 days to collect. Spotless 2006 model.

What a find ! Lovely Mille 👍 I own a 2005 model and love it  ;)

This is my third. Last one was written off by a robot jumper!  A real no nonsense motorcycle and not for those that usually ride inline fours.

Bought an MT 5 on eBay. Needs a bit of work. Been in storage since 1997 so probably a fair amount of work. Think itís a 92 model. These hondas were sold here from 1979 to around the mid 90s.

So after a week of polishing a cleaning on Friday I did an oil change. An took carb off. Bike has been stored since 1997 an not run. Has 12000 miles on it. Carb inside was a mess. Layer of varnish gunk an everything blocked. Cleaned as best I could. Main jet was completely blocked so took a bit of coaxing.

Saturday put it all together. Rinsed tank. Bought cheap 2 smoke an went out to get fuel but got side tracked at a mates.

This morning he came round. 3 kicks no life. 4th kick a lil life. 5th kick the eagle has landed. What a feeling. Rode it up an down the road. Easily does 30 so think itís already been de restricted.

2 things. Bike only runs and idles with choke on.
On the overrun there is a discernible knock sound. no vibration though so could be bearing, piston slap or a fuel ignition knock.

Will strip it all down an measure.

Forking lekker feeling bringing something back to life.

Is your camera broken?

I love mine for exactly that reason  :thumleft: Its a  "hard bike " as you know......from the grips, pegs, seat, vibrations of the Rotax 60 degree V Twin engine and more.......BUT, what a pleasure to ride hard, with that impeccable handling and huge torgue ( for its engine size and age of course ).

Have you replaced that silly sidestand with a 2007 fireblade one? Bolt on and cures that propensity for tipping over.

Motorbike spares might be duty free for the same reasons as in SA. Also, I seem to recall anything imported under a certain amount (35 GBP??) is also duty free.
Don't let fear hold you back ..... take it with you!
