Fokit taken out by a pommie in a hire car
« on: February 25, 2014, 07:26:10 am »
SWMBO,
Borrowed my motor this morning so I took the bike to work, filtering down the outside on 12th traffic at a standstill no oncoming traffic, twot decides to swing out 90 degrees into the turning lane for oncoming to turn right, I had no chance, the left pot took the impact and my knee a little bump...but managed to stay upright....

the pig lost a plastic head cover, some rocker cover fin damage and broken gear lever...

Driver is from london in a hire car!!!!  ::) ::)

What a twll tin, pen coc, haliwr! Happy you are all right and the damage is not more serious to the bike!

People say nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day. And doing nothing often leads to the very best kind of something.

One good thing of the Boxer engine, seems the pot helped protect your leg. Glad you are OK.

Sort all the claims, etc out while this guy is in the country, have heard of hire companies claiming that the driver of their car did not conform to their rules, so refused to pay out.

I had a accident in 1995, on my GSX-R, involving a Swedish athlete who was in Stellenbosch to practise for the '96 Olympics, he was in an Avis car and 3 days before he left I had to get an attorney block his passport to prevent him leaving the country, because Avis dragged their feet.
I was completely unhurt, but both the Suzuki and the Avis Corolla was written off. The car had to be towed away, even the engine mountings broke. I hit it at 80Kmph, and
the car was turning in fronyt of me in 1st gear.

Chevy Spark. They look flimsy no wonder they shatter & disassemble on impact :D

Lucky the Spark did not get flipped over :lol8:

Every one walked away, no serious damage and most importantly no one got shot dead!

the heavier something is,  the harder to knock it over?

that is because 1150's are bigger & much harder than little Chevy Sparkies.

very glad you came off best, Welsh!
