I am in the process of buying a 800XC and I am thinking of fitting aluminium panniers an top box as my wife and I will be doing some decent long distance adventuring on it. We have soft luggage on our 660Z but that is because we use that mainly for bush trails where boxes could be a problem and get damaged.
I know that Triumph have luggage but have also heard that the SW Motech and Trax are worth looking at. On a test ride my wife said the Triumph top box seemed to be too far forward and was uncomfortable.
For panniers we would be looking at 35-38 litres as otherwise they seem to get too wide - and we do travel fairly light.
Question: What hard luggage have you fitted and are you happy with it? I will be interested to hear.
