Evenings approaching, so we get ready for our braai.

Check out the (sweet corn) customary.
After the lekker braai we chill out drink some cold ones and talk some more kak and of course some interesting stuff also.

Next morning Ian’s up early as he heard the hippo’s making their hippo sounds and trying to wake up every thing. Not me I was a moeg ou and slept through it.

Ian goes to “verken” the joint and takes some brilliant photos.
What a spectacular sunrise

Checks out some warning signs on route, but he is not worried, as he is a Dinosaur, a Biker, a Moerse Tough Ou, a WD, so off he traps into the unknown.

Finds the big ous which are making the moerse noise.

When they checked him there taking photos “he sommer gooid them a evil eye”, and they “Skriked” and kept quite, some of them even went under water just to get away from him. You see the word is getting around in the animal Kingdom about the Two Moerse Strong Dinosaurs.

A lekker stukkie beach.

They even have a nice wooden path way for us to walk on.

Check out the animals “spoere”

On return to the camp he comes across these two Bush bucks grazing close to our tents.

He wakes me up with a cuppa coffee, yea really, “good buddy this” scheme he knew I was gonna have a big babelass.
Kit packed and we off.

Stop on route and fill up the bikes.

In 2008 we were on our way to St Lucia in my cage and I blew the head gasket at 01h00 that morning right where you see the lights. (Lady Luck) that it happened where it did.

Parked the car where the silver cage is and arranged to leave the car there for two days.

Phoned the woman friends brother to come and fetch us, there was six of us, two days later went to fetch the car and thanked the owner for looking after it. Towed it to St Lucia where I replaced the head gasket, did not skeem the head, take my hat off  for the old Passat1987 model as she took us back to Pretoria, we used 17lt of oil on the return trip, the whole engine was covered and dripping oil every where. Skeemed the head put her back together and she’s still running with no problems. Now that’s what you call a road trip.

On route to Swaziland. We stop for a aaah smoke break, Ok, ok and a cold one to sort the head out. For some stupid reason it was not lekker (don’t know “Why”).A few pics and we off.

We reach the Swaziland Border, once again sommer chop chop and we in Swaziland.

Huh!! Was expecting more, roads are boring, Speed limit in this place is ridiculous, short distances of 60km then 80km then 60km then 100km then back to 60 and so it carried on.

Boring so I pulled out the camera and took some riding photos of Ian cruising on his bike. Ya Ya!! Not very safe but it gave me some thing to do.

Then we stop at this river, can’t find a name anywhere, so we officially have changed its name, it’s now called the Dinosaur River.

Aaah!! It finally gets better.

Ian Stops to check out the sign and to make sure its what it is. Yip it is.
Now as you ous know we are Dinosaurs, we are bikers, we are moerse tough ous, we are WD, and we aint bang ous, so we go cruise down the road looking for a chance encounter with some lekker wild life, as the sign says. Wild Frontier. Anticipating to come across a Lion or two so I can have a chat with them about his cousins that escaped from Karoo National Park and find out if they ok and how the cubs doing. I was feeling ok, not like on the last trip, the head was sommer feeling a lot better this time.

Yea right, apart from seeing a couple of animals, we did not even get to see any “Cow boys, or Indians”. I mean what type of wild Frontier is this?????

Huh! now I think those cousins of these ous musta tuned them about us two Moerse strong Dinosaurs and they decided they don’t want any part of the two of us and were sommer hiding away and shaking in fear. We did manage too see a giraffe or two as well as some type of animal with big horns. Oh! And some dom kop sleeping in the bush next to the road, huh some ous are just not lekker up there.
Stop off have some lunch and off we go, sorry no pics as it just was not worth taking any, and oh ya we were having some fun dogging the pot holes. Arrive at border post, out and in RSA.

Head for Nelspruit. On route we had stopped at a lot of Honda dealers, so we try our luck again with the hope that they will have a Speedo drive for the Honda, ya right no luck once again, but at least they tune us about a lekker possie down the road and sommer phone them for us and we have a place to kip for the night. Nou’s Toekas Lodge just 5km’s out of town, I buy break pads for the Honda, as every time I hit the brakes they screech just like a girl. “Oops Sorry Ladies”. We off, reach the possie book in kit off, and we quickly change the pads on the AT

So off we go to “Verken” the joint. Hell Lady lucks on our side as there’s a bar and restaurant sommer close to our possie. We get us a cold one each, only to have to hear that there’s a wedding going on later and that they can’t supply us with supper, we will have to go to town. Mmm not to chuffed with this as some how the couple who’s getting married forgot sommer to invite us two ous. I mean look at us we are moerse nice ous, “agga” nee man some people.

Off to our rooms where we spit and polish our selves and off we go to town. Find a nice restaurant and  have a lekker big steak and of course a few cold ones, then check out the Mall hoping there some type of night life on the go, no luck, so we head back to our dwellings. Sit out side and check all of these over dressed people whilst having a cold one or two. Must say some of the views were nice. (he he). Off to kip.

On the road bright and early the next morning. Our destination. Graskop via Lydenburg to Pilgrems Rest. We stop every now and again for a smoke and take in the scenery.

Come across a traffic jam, cages a mile long, slip past them and as we go around a bend.

We encounter this.

Some guy had lost it. Tried to get pass, but they had it blocking the whole dam rode. So like a cage driver we had to sit and wait it out.

Get to the Long Tom cannon so we go and take a peak, and it gives me a chance for a quick cold one as I was feeling the affects of dehydration. (uh uh don’t say any thing, ) ok I was a bit dors okay. Dam this riding on the “Black” stuff takes it out of a ou.

This pick I took just for all of those ous that like to read.

Check out where it aimed and went and took a photo of where the shell would most probably have landed.

Hop on the bikes and follow the road. Stop off over here, we just passed a sign which tuned us where it landed. My guess was right

It was fired from that koppie in the distance.

The shot landed just behind the bend.

Unbelievable to think that the projectile went 9000m, I scheme those pommies must have kaked in their pants when it landed in between them. Hey hang on a minute. My old man was English and the old lady was Afrikaans, which means only one thing. We was shooting the shit out of our selves.
Mmm now how’s that for a thought for food. Dam lucky my ous survived or else I would not of been here.(he he)

Cruise on to Lydenburg for a cold one or two and a smoke break. Nice place and very Biker friendly.

Got a bit lost going out of the joint, took a nice ride through the bloody location. Finally got on the right road towards Pilgrems Rest. Stopped and took some more nice photo’s.

There was a helluva lot of super Bikes out and the ous were enjoying the twisties.

On the way to pilgrims we ride into a “moerse pad blockade”, must have been about 40 sap members there, no probs, they were friendly ous and just checked our licenses.

So we reach Pilgrims Rest and have a lunch, and “ye ye” want say it.
Took some cool photos of the place, must have been quite a place in its hey day.

A few establishments.

A few houses where the Larnies staid.

Just out side of town a old mine entrance

Then we were off to Graskop.
Think I liked this possie “Big Time.”

Ian beat me to it. I must be getting old.

Now here a bunch of ous that dig there Jagen meesters.

The inside of the establishment.

Cool hey. A thirsty Bikers “Dream”

So we have a few cold ones to wash away the days “Aah something”
But as night time is approaching, we force our self’s to abandon this recluse and to go and find some digs for the night.

Book in at the Summit Lodge.
Nice place have a restaurant and a bar on site.

Our dwellings.
Ian’s

(He he) Yamie once again needs to be pampered

Mine

Honda takes the punch.

A few picks of the possie the next morning.

Mist had set in, so no Gods window for us.

We head off for Pietersburg.
We stop and have a smoke break and admire the view.

As we had not done any sand we find a nice little gravel road and go down it hoping it would take us some place. No luck as it runs into a dead end so back to the tar we go.

Ian took his time . I thinks he was enjoying the sand road.
On the road again.

Ian’s also taking some pics.

Could of spent the whole day there as its just amazing what nature has to offer. But alas its time to go so we head off once again. We find a turn off to go and view some more scenery.

Don’t know what its name is and there’s no signs stipulating a name so we pull out a cold one and officially Christian it Dinosaur Canyon.

On the Bikes and cruising down the highway, we Kings of the roads, we’ve got tigers in the tanks etc, im singing this lekker song as we cruise, and then we come to an old Voortrekkerbegraafplaas. We go check it out.

Some thing must have happened in the area in 1848 as there’s a lot of graves dating in and about that time. Maybe some one can shed a light on it.

Then we on route again to Warm Baths (Bela Bela). Book in at the Resort in a small house that sleeps four. So basically we are paying for four people. As its Saturday, I phone my son and daughter and tune them to get there asses over here. They pack, hop in the bakkie and come and join the two old Dinosaurs for the week end.

Think some thing bit him.

Me and Ian take a ride and go and “Verken” the joint, have a cold one or two, then we buy some Pizza for supper and go back to the house.
Kids finally get there and we have the Pizza washed down with a few lekker cold ones, we all talk a lot of you know what and then we call it a night.

Next morning we up early but no, not the rug rats, it’s a mission to get them awake.

We off to the Hot Pools to relax and have some fun, Oh and to eat ice creams. Old uncle Ian treated them to lotsa ice creams.

The two moerse strong Dinosaurs.

The two little Dinosaurs

The two moerse strong Dinosaurs under water.

Big Dinosaurs and little Dinosaurs swimming under water. Cool hey. Check out the faces.

Little dinosaurs being little Dinosaurs they go and play.

Mean while the big Dinosaurs relax.

Come on I took the photo of my buddy.

So all things must come to an end and we head back to Pretoria.
Ian has still to get back to Groot Brak.
Mmm this time its his turn to ride a moerse distance solo.

On his return trip, just outside of Colesburg he finds a nice gravel road to ride. The R795 and takes to the sand to end off his ride.

Has a bit of company on route.

Distance traveled: Don’t know my Speedo was broken, but it was a moerse lot.
Petrol usage: A moerse lot of that as well.
Food intake: Skaap tjops, wors, vark tjops, steaks, hamburgers, ice cream and other stuff.
Beverages: aaah “water”, coffee, cold drinks, pink drink “thingie”. Mmm cold ones.
Tyres: The ones on the bikes.
Cost: A helsa klomp geld.

Ps :Once again no damage to any Fauna and Flora.
Pss: No damage to any of the beer bottles or cans on the trip, except for emptying them.
Pss: Damage Report: One Honda Speedo Drive and Break Pads.
Psss: The only Speedo drive in the country Mid Rand 30km from Pretoria. ”Sucks”
Pssss: One helluva nice trip with one helluva nice buddy.

Well that’s all guys and dolls hope you enjoyed the RR as much as we enjoyed the ride.

The two faithful steeds.

The Yamaha

The Honda

The two moerse strong Dinosaurs.

Im on the left (ALLEN I). Ian is on the right (Ian In Great Brak River)

Bike is no problem cous, shure at places we run at 130/140 on the sand, but they are far and infrequent, read some of the ous RR's theres a lot of ous that do it on smaller bikes. the idea is to get out there and to enjoy the ride and have an experience of a life time.   :ricky:  glad you enjoyed the photies and the ride. A guy takes so many photos that its difficult to decide which ones to use.
