We are having another ride on Sunday 13th July, it will be a tar ride with the roads having been scouted and good for any bikes. 07:00 for 07:30 departure
The initial route is from Holeshot past Heidelberg, around the Suikerbosrand/Heidelberg Kloof reserve following the back roads past the back of Meyerton and Henley-on-Klip through the outskirts of Vereeniging onto the R59 to Sasolburg and then to the breakfast destination of Parys Airfield where we can watch the Aeries flying over and landing while we enjoy a tasty buffet style breakfast. This route is 152km from Holeshot to the Airfield.
The buffet breakfast costs R80 and comes with fruit juice and a cup of coffee, thereafter cofffee is R12 a cup, we can sit either inside (with heaters) or outside depending on the weather.
After breakfast, for those who wish to ride a bit more, we will go to the Historic Motorcycle Museum in Denysville where we can walk around some magnificent bikes of old and enjoy a coffee etc. This trip is another 65km.
Again, for those who wish to ride a little more, we will take a scenic tour around the Vaal dam, leaving Deneysville we will loop around to Oranjeville, cut over the dam using the Single lane bridge and then loop out to Villiers, cut through townand out over the Vaal river on another little single lane bridge, loop up the side of the dam and back to heidelberg and home. This loop has some beautiful stark Free State country side to see as well as the Messerchmidt Fighter in the Oranjeville garden, the 2 bridges we cross over the dam and river are pretty photo opportunities and then there is the Fighter Jet on a plinth as we get back into Heidelberg. This loop in it’s entirety is 220km from deneysville to Holeshot.
