Why so difficult to put a small bike ride together ?

I have tried twice to put a small bike ride together but no luck really. Just once me and Aaklige Attie did one
to the WD den.
I thought it will be a fun thing to do (kaas en wyn trip) but no interest really. Small bike being bikes up to 150cc . All bikes welcome but true small bikes travel somewhere between  50 - 80 km/h. I can even see scooters running with. People got no time ? Nobody really got a small bike for a fun overnighter to a place like the den for instance with nice easy roads to travel and affordable venue ? Sorry I just love that area (when it is not raining).  :lol8:
Small bikes can make a 350km day a bit tougher for some but the fun factor is right up there  :ricky:
Who  all has got a small bike around Gauteng and would there be interest to try and put such a ride together
when it is a bit warmer (September ? ) as I am still recovering from a chest infection.

My guess, here are very few people with 'small' bikes as you describe it being under 150cc. With my tall body, a XT660 is "a small bike"  :peepwall:

Geen small bike het opgedaag nie. Wat ek tog duidelik in my ride planning gese het. As niemand op n 125cc saamry dan ry ek met die 660. Nee n 250 tel nie as n small bike nie. Hy kan 100km'h heeldag loop op die grond. Soos dit was het ons vir die 1200 die heeldag gewag terwyl die 250 saam met die voorbokke geloop het.
125cc ride loop lekker saam met ander klein bikes (onder 150cc) maar so n ride sal net nie uitwerk met die swaarste ou op enigste bike wat minder as 10hp maak nie. Tussen die koppe op pad na die den leef my 125 eerder rondom 40-50 km/h.
Het julle toe ooit n klein bike trip aanmekaar gekry in die Ooskaap. Proper klein bike met oorslaap erens?
Ek het gedog so iets sal popular wees maar lyk my nie so nie.

But I don't see you doing any adventure off road trips anymore . Maybe a "small bike" like the XT660 will be right for you  to hit those dirt roads again  :ricky:

Daar was een beplan so twee jaar terug toe raak ek hondsiek. Nou het ek nie meer 'n grondpad kleinbike nie.

Ek het al probeer maar dit werk nie as 'n los groep ding nie. Nie almal het, of hou van klein bikes nie. Wat jy nodig het is 'n paar pelle wat entoesiasties is daaroor en saam trips doen.

Yes, but that is the point. Just tripping out going nowhere slowly. Some like it. My most enjoyable rides are on my old clunkers at 100km/h.

Ja die groter bikes werk nie lekker saam met die kleiner bikes nie. My hoop was om meer sielle om die vuur en by Naboom (lunch ) te kry dat die kleiner bikes sal saam hardloop en die groter bikes hulle eie ding sal doen oppad.  Glo daar is nuwelinge op die groter bikes wat nie sal omgee om teen 60 km/h eerder te ry  ook nie. Ag ek sit maar net n voeler uit. Die Australianers het so n lekker klein bike run met die posties elke jaar

oor die algemeen is dit die ego's wat te groot is om op die bikes te pas.

Jy is heeltemal reg. ons ry hopeloos te min, nie dat ek eintlik iemand is wat in groepe ry nie en ook nie ride reports doen nie. Ons speel so nou en dan hier rond, maar dis BAIE sand hier, en met die GSA, eintlik AGS - Absoluut Geen Sand- is dit maar tough, veral sedert ek laas skuld gekry het toe sy so 50 meter agter my val in die sand, en die feit dat ek nou 'ouer' word en nie meer bene wil breek nie soos met die 2009 WC Bash toe ek te wild in die sand gespeel het.  Maar ja, ek verlang na 'n Baviaans trippie weer (8ste een), maar Swartberg en Hel is op die agenda vir Sept, maar ons is besig met huis bou, so gelde is maar tight vir bike trips.

Ons is besig om weer te praat oor newbie rides reel. Eks self nie regtig een vir groep rides nie maar ek mis die stuff wat ouens soos Grunt en Blazes en so aan altyd gereel het. Lewenslange vriende op daai rides gemaak

Rhino is ook moeilik want ouens dink dit gaan 'n op fok sessie wees en dan join newbies nie. Eks keen om Rhino toe te gaan maar dis maar bietjie koud onder daai bome in die winter

Subie ek het al selfs in die verlede sulke rides gereel en ook gereeld gekyk na die small bike rides wat jy reel.

Probleem(vir my) is dat tot dusver al jou small bike rides overnighters Den to was vir n dop en tjop.

As dit n lekker dagtrippie is kan ek dit meemaak - so diversifiseer :)

I't flippen hard to get a good ride together at anytime, not that the guys don't want to ride, it's just juggling between work, family and bikes. Now you're norrowing the field to smaller bikes, which in turn makes task even more difficult.
I also think guys don't really want to do an overnight on a small bike because of the packing required to sleep overnight. Add to that the winter season and you're going to battle to get a group bigger than5-6 guys!

Sorry Kykdaar maar ek het net nie die mindset vir my bike uitvat vir n paar ure nie.  Ek weet meeste ouens het net nie meer die tyd om n overnighter te doen nie en vir hulle pas n daytrip. Ek is n traveller en dit voel vir my ek het darem erens heen getravel as ek darem heeldag ry,oorslaap en volgende dag weer terug travel.
Wat die dop betref sal ouens wat al saam gery het jou kan vertel ek is maar" lig op petrol" en is maar net grootbek met die dop&tjop storie  :ricky:
