On Sunday, I had a most unpleasant experience at the Lesotho border post at Sani Pass. The issue was that, on my way down, the border post staff could not find the stamp in my passport from the previous day when I had entered.
So, I paged though it also, and blow me down, there is the South African stamp, but no Lesotho stamp!
Bear in mind that I've been up and down the pass too many times to count, that I've known some of these chaps by name,  that I never check my oassport stamp, and that I'm not a mamparra causing trouble.
But now they threatened to arrest me, because "I must have entered Lesotho illegally?" It was surreal, but  I then remembered the receipt for the ZAR30 toll on entering Lesotho. I whipped that out, they realised their folly, and suddenly, all was forgiven.
Moral of the story, check your passport stamp. And when you pay the ZAR 30 toll, ask for a receipt.
