DR650SE speedo cable
« on: May 12, 2016, 04:06:04 pm »
Hi guys. The speedo cable on my DR has given up the ghost. It seems it has twisted and frayed inside the housing. No point in trying to fix it.  :xxbah:

Anyone know where I can get a new/2nd hand cable? Waiting on feedback from Suzuki, but want to source other places too. Will the DR-Z cable fit on the DR?

Where are you?
There's  an old guy in blairgowrie who works from home who can fix.

DRZ cable is longer. I'm not at home till next week to compare.

Should be around 50mm longer.

You are wasting time and money if you replace inners of any cable. The sleeve is usually close to its final day too.

You are wasting time and money if you buy inferior quality after market junk.

An OEM speedo cable will last around 40,000km. Your friendly Suzuki Dealer will most likely have one on the shelf.
