Enhancing Pictures
« on: May 22, 2016, 11:44:22 pm »
Ok so we see a lot of pics on the forum.
most of us aren't photographers, although we tend to try become better, especially when we see some of those  pics posted.

One thing I often wonder about....
where is the appreciation of the pure as is photo?

I often see, even ../ especially? from professionals? that the colours are mostly very enhanced, more to make the pic pretty rather than show the reality?

or maybe my cell camera or point and shoot are just kaka?

Anyway, that got me wondering....Am I just too lazy to enhance all my pics that I like them natural?
so I then wondered... How do you guys and girls  like them?
very enhanced with unnatural; colours? a little or none?

And girls are darn thankful for that

I like to shoot in raw and then touch to as I remember the scene

However this is only occasional as it takes to much time for me.

As a bit of a purist I do prefer to get the pic correct when I shoot it
A. To save Time
B. I think it is more skillful.

All IMHO

Think it depends on the picture.

I've taken pics that was just pain. Enhanced them, and all of a sudden the pic gets a "wow" factor.

other look better original.

Ek mik-en-klik op my foon.

People say nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day. And doing nothing often leads to the very best kind of something.

Unaltered ones looks awesome, altered looks plastique for me.  But then again I don't understand friends of mine took professional family pictures.  It does not show the true them for me. I even take trip photos randomly supposed to posed.  Gets a laugh later but some time later see the actual realness

Thump, as I dump the photies in a folder to resize, using Microsoft Office Picture Viewer, there is a auto correct tab.

(Capture)

Click it once, and if I like how the photo looks - I move on. If not, ctrl Z(undo) and move on. Dont sit and edit photos as I'm not a photographer. Dont get me wrong, a well edited photo is well, - awesome. But do not have the knowledge to do it properly. Leaving it for the Pro's!

Microsoft Office Picture Viewer do have some basic editing options if you want to start playing...

2 folders for my pictures - both automatically end up in my Google Photo Storage (I have a terabyte of free storage - after becoming a Google Local Guide - https://www.google.com/local/guides/)

Android phones automatically upload to Google Photos (private folder)
Google does the automatic editing for you.
If I take 6 pictures of something it finds the best one for me. It even makes gif animations and movies from the pictures.

I have no time to go and edit pictures afterwards.
I cringe when I see the a Vignette around a picture (that's the shadow focus border thingy).
