supermoto?
« on: July 12, 2006, 02:25:20 pm »
I want to supermoto my KLR,
But so that I have a one set of wheels when going offroad, and a set that I can use to commute with.

Has anyone got any kind of advice for me, where and what wheels to get, etc?

Glad you said wheels - since you would need a 18inch front together with rims and different tyre on the rear.  Check www.klr650.net for tips, I think they fit 18 inch rear wheels to the front?  Lower mudguard and maybe different size counter sproc too.

Thanks, will have a look there.

How standard are wheel hubs?
Can I go to a bike spares shop and buy any ond street bike wheel, or do I specifically need klr650 hubs?

I think I need to get the bigger brake disc and caliper relocation bracket upgrade first anyway.

Alot of Kawasaki's will use interchangable hubs. Just make sure you know which ones will work. I have seen lots of people put streetbike wheels on ds bikes. I prefer the look of spoke wheels on supermoto bikes though like so
