Is it possible to replace the bolt/worm gear or whatever is attached to the pre-load adjust bolt. Since I have had the bike the pre-load has been sitting on the softest setting (1). At that time I tried to adjust it as I am bit heavier than the 68kg "average" rider that the manual says the 1 setting is good for. Riding with some luggage (and even without) I regularly bottom the rear, and think a bit of pre-load will help this.
I put the bike on the center stand and tried to turn clockwise to get it set harder, but as I turn it I can see it go, but as soon as you expect it to catch and stay at setting 2 it shoots back to the 1 setting. Something is stripped in there (not the bolt on the outside). My workshop manual does not show the internal parts I want to be able to see.
