I must confess to not knowing that much about E-tolls, but this article puzzles me.

I was under the impression that E-tolls was a very much under-performing company, yet these guys strived to aquire control of it, and then it is stated that it's "profits"
are flowing offshore??

What profits?

From operating the system. They are not paying back the loan, that is SANRAL's baby.

Same here. Couple of months ago I got SMS'es that threatened me, they are now pleading....OUTA tells me to just let it be, swipe left, delete!
People say nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day. And doing nothing often leads to the very best kind of something.

If the amount of vehicles passing through e-toll gantries could be "manipulated", this could be a good money-laundering proposition.

Your drug/rhino horn money turned into "honest" e-toll "profits".

https://www.moneyweb.co.za/news/south-africa/sanral-throws-in-the-towel-over-e-toll-debts-older-than-three-years/

Quote
The South African National Roads Agency (Sanral) has thrown in the towel over e-toll debts older than three years and written off R3.6 billion in the 2017 financial year relating to this debt. However, it will continue in its attempts to recover unpaid e-tolls by pursuing defaulters in the courts.

Have they successfully pursued anyone in the court yet for non payment of e-tolls?
(not the one guy they got for other reasons)
