Spaar jouself baie geld en trane en koop n XR 650 R en bestel n happy button kit by Runner.
Gaan baie goedkoper wees as n 701/690 of 450. Die 450 gaan nie hou op die ooppad.

Weet jy van n 650R wat te koop is?  :peepwall:

I don't get why sorting something like fuel range is an issue?? Any bike will probably have at least one aspect that you'd want to tweak to suit your personal needs.

I did a 750 km ride today including parts of Lekgalameetse. I can't think of a bike I'd rather to that with than my 690

Ja, die 690/701 bly maar n plesier om te ry. I found fuel range not to be such an issue on the 690, they are economical and I got 25kpl on one of the bicycle trips. This is careful[ish] riding and would give you almost 300 kilos on a 690.

On some of our WildWood tours we get as much as 280km on a tank if we take less adventurous riders. Up the west coast in the sand and hammering a bit I've always managed 200km and more.

And it's no big deal carrying a fold up fuel bladder to be used on longer stretches. The Desert Fox bag takes 5l which equates to an extra 100km. It folds up small and easily straps to the top of my bag when full. After 100km I simply empty the bag and pack it away. Hardly a hassle and I get to ride the best offered tourer on the planet.

Norm, pulling a sidecar with a bike on it and towing a trailer as well...with a 990!!
Love to know how long the chain will last. Re-tention every 300 kays and replace in 5000?
The older I get, the earlier it gets late

My choice would be neither..

First Choice:

2017 KTM 500 EXC

New Honda CR45RX:

Simple SOHC, Electric start, FI and a big fuel tank.
Off the show room floor it makes more power than the WR.

So how do you pack these for a multi day trip?

Sleeping outside - a backpack and fuel ?
