Honda are serious about taking on KTM beware of the money they have it. Last year 250mx world chamopion this year 450mx world champion. I see a big team for the Dakar.this year new bike.I believe more adventure bikes coming. :pot:
Hmm interesting that, according to the FIM KTM won it(http://www.fim-live.com/en/sport/sport/motocross-mxgpmx2/ ) the same for the AMA supercross (http://www.fim-live.com/en/sport/sport/supercross/)  , again. But then you have a valid point about Honda's effort.

KTM won AMA this year. Honda won the 450mx FIM generally regarded as the world championship. However even though the Americans call everything they do world Championships. AMA is were the money and excitement is and probably bigger.

I must concede that if this KTM is everything its supposed to be I will be in the queue if I can afford it. I am light so light bikes suit men or bikes that feel light but I need a twin I rode the BMW 800 and it certainly dosent feel that light and maneuverable and to put it blandly has no punch. In fact I found the KTM990 felt better I loved that bike but the AT is so much easier to ride and more comfortable KTM must remember comfort in this new bike will also sell it...

Why only 2019? Guess they are still trying to work out how to seal the airbox!

And to let the 1000 Honda have it`s 15 minutes of fame!
Careful now, they will all come out the woodwork and wax lyrical about the build quality and reliability and power and stuff. :lol8:

… and about saying their prayers (or the F-word by the looks of it) on their knees in the highlands of Lesotho next to mortally wounded steeds with holes right through the wafer thin bash plates and sumps … and giving thanks to the KTM and BMW riders coming to their rescue with Pratleys and patience   :imaposer:

Is This piece of plastic meant to be a bash plate. If you dent this engine its a whole new casing not just a new sump plate as is the case on this AT. However it must be said Leon must be thankful to KTM riders and there pratliys putty does that not say something.  :pot:

Some one is suffering from a possible dementia onset at their age..........
Also just hazzarding a guess that the BM was slightly more than R6500-00 to repair?

No I do not suffer dementia  I always said at the time that I had the experience to assist in fixing it … along with TJ with his KTM that also required an engine casing some time back. It can happen to most all of us if we push the limits … which is adventure after all. My karmic cosmic chuckle is Leon ripping me off the whole weekend and recalling my face when I holed my sump (on the Old Mill route a few years back) … only to do the same to the AT on the way home on a secondary road … and for me to see his face. Priceless  :lol8: Did that road bike sump plate cost R6500?  ::) Jokes aside that AT is impressive.

Only BMW will attach a bashplate to the actual engine  :imaposer: Yes I know there is no sub frame but surely does not take a genius to know this will be a bad idea.
