What does it cost to do the amageza

Lots. About the price of a very nice KLR if you do it on the cheap

Can always do crooked maths and divide by the number of times you do it. The first one is by far the most expensive. Unless you get excited and buy an RR for no 2!

I just heard from the horse's mouth, as I have two friends racing the Amageza, that the organizing is top notch.  Roadbook and all navigation is brilliant, all previous problems addressed and corrected.  Just look at the results, first 10 riders 1 hour apart.  Yesterdays top 10 finishers 13mins apart!  That speaks volumes!

Well done to all!

Yip hats off to Alex and his team. The man had a dream and was prepared to put in the work to get it done.
...dis nooit te laat om n happy childhood te he nie !

Build a sidecar they said. It will be fun they said. Ja-nee !

Dont think so as it might be to far tomorrow or they will just use grave roads.

I see Roger left A'Bay and is in the area WC Baja was held.

If you have the bike and nothing else, all in about R50k if you're lucky, given some help and don't break anything whilst training.

And some people have been known to easily spend 5 times that...

Chris Oppermans tracker only started working after Alexander Bay and he's up near the front. Hope he's looking after his tires, cause he can like to burn through them!

My guess is that they are going to camp in one of the Nooroewer Orange River Camps on the SA side of course. I'm going with Oewerbos

Neil - Bluebull is super lost and if he carries on from where he is will be taking an epic shortcut. My guess is that he's given up on the roadbook and aiming for a waypoint. If he doesn't turn around, he'll cut the corner and miss the refuel.

Nope, I was close, it's Fiddlers Creek, the one next door.

A swim in the river will go down well!

Hats off to Neil, he's taken a wrong turn, cut a huge Aleaxander Bay section out and landed up crossing the track close to the front runners. His only choices would be;

-To turn around and try find the track again - Might not have the fuel range for that.
-Carry on towards the finish, but would risk a finishers medal if he misses too many waypoints.
or... Do what he's doing now -Looping around back to Alexander Bay on the main roads to enter the track again and hope he hasn't missed too many waypoints.

It's going to be a long day

Seems as if Neil is heading to Alex Bay along the river.

Martin (10) is gunning it as almost the same pace as the leaders.  :ricky:
