GTFO JHB - Wherever I lay my head
« on: April 15, 2017, 06:22:55 pm »
Need some big sky and open roads

After some delays and shitty weather I finally pulled myself toward myself and headed out

Initial thoughts on route had to change a bit because of weather. Slabbed it in the pissing rain all the way out the other side of Klerksdorp and eventually called it a day and clocked in at Bloemhof for the night.
Next morning early was some tar...some dirt...

Heading Witsand...got those open roads and big blue skies I had been hoping for
...but also more than a fair share of mud pits and sand monsters
Kukked myself a bit on the loaded Sten heading to and through Bergenaarspas

Doesn't look like it has been used much recently and badly washed away

Did you go to "Raap en Skraap" on the way to Onseepkans? Where the tar road ends you turn to your right towards the Orange River???

Spent the day riding around the area Stop for a quick brekvis with a cup or 2 of lekker moer-koffie
Could have sat and chatted to Norbert who runs the spot for hours. Was a tracker with the army back in the day and has done some incredible offroad adventures as part of the Voetspore team
