How big of a deal is Hallowe'en, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Cyber Monday and other American Holidays in Europe?

Lots of repairs going on. Guess holiday makers are now in the mountains enjoying some skiing.

They seem to be more involved with Easter, Christmas and New Years. Not so big on American holidays. Belgium has twelve public / bank holidays a year.

I notice you have tracks for every day the last week or so. Was that normal out and about, or did you take leave and travel a bit?

I admire your self-discipline in getting out and about so much. Makes me feel guilty for my relative laziness ::)

I love the order in everything, the cleanliness, and the incredible history in so many of those buildings and areas.  :thumleft:

Always nice to be in these places. Do tend to end up in the better part of town - old and historic.

Deauville (FR) in winter

There is a French movie, Les Valseuses, featuring Miou-Miou, Gérard Depardieu and Patrick Dewaere. It is one of Gérard Depardieu’s first movies he played in. Certain scenes were shot in just such a coastal holiday resort. Almost totally deserted, and it is interesting the comment you made about the holiday makers being in the mountains skiing.

In said movie Gérard and his mate then identify the family of one of the empty holiday houses, which exact family they then later in the movie encounter in the mountains – precisely what you estimated!
