So Sunday morning whilst The family was still snoozing i decided to hit the breeze for a short ride, needed to clear my mind so chose a short but nice little route. I left Uitenhage and headed out towards the Loerie/Gamtoos area.
Passed the Thornhill hotel but it was too early for a beer so i continued onto Loerie Dam just to see if the recent rains had made any difference to the water levels. Not much to my disappointment. Took the old road and stopped to view the wild animals, even saw a Giraffe. Anyway from the dam i headed up towards the Koeke-panbrekkei stop. I was gonna pass but the lady form the pozzie flagged me down and offered me a free cuppa if i could help sort out her electricity.Something had tripped and killed her entire power supply..Luckily i stuff and found a fault with her lights circuit that killed the mains. I disconnected the breaker and whala it was all good and the kettle was put on. Had my coffee and ducked..
Decided to hook a left at the Vodacom tower and head towards the Gamtoos river. Was nice and muddy after the recent rains (some oh fok moments , especially on that red clay stuff) Reached the Gamtoos river road and explored a little. After stopping for a little i headed back on the tar to the Gamtoos Ferry Hotel for a coffee. From there headed home via the Thornhill Hotel for a cold one..
