OK, it's a normal vice, a Mitco 150mm that is around 25-30 years old. I posted on the right board, as this vice has clamped millions of bike-related parts.
It has just stripped the thread of the spindle nut. The spindle thread is good, I just need to know who to contact for spare parts, if available, on these high quality Mitco vices.
