KTM is way more expensive. Teneremotor is tried and tested in a number of different models.

Absolute power is not always an advantage.

The Yamaha does look good, One fall on the right and the water pump is gone. And you still have to walk home. They not all perfect. I am happy to have my 790R.

Pretty much like the chorus of bleating about weight! Not to mention reliability bleating/ TFT dash bleating/ build quality bleating etc etc etc BUT not one of them ever say - OH yes it's much cheaper, more reliable AND it gives me a massive hard-on when I ride it!

Will still be interesting to see how the SA price is going to compare

We will soon find out as soon as Yamaha launch the T7 in South Africa in 2021 :spitcoffee:

YOU NEED AN ATM TO OWN A KTM

8999 UK Pound vs 10999 , so its actually more expensive if you look at Pound/HP, KTM 116p/hp and yamaha 125p/hp.

Your reasoning makes the Yamaha an even better buy. The much more stressed engine in the KTM will not give you nearly the kilos the Yammie will, so long-term the Yamaha is the cheaper one by far.

One should also look at Rand/distance to get an idea of real value.

So you can have even less fun for an extended period of time :thumleft:

Theres absolutely no doubt the T7 is going to be a brilliant bike, none at all! If they were available now I may have easily gone that route and not 790
Just please dont let it be bland and lack soul...The AT was a bit that way...brilliant bike and good at everything but boring because it just plods along and does everything well but without any real zest
My 790 takes me back to my time of SE ownership, it makes me grin and shout in my helmet.....will it give me the same many hours of trouble free biking as the Yamaha?

I really don't understand how they think there is a market for this bike? Just buy a KTM 790

Lol Chicco, you clearly miss the point of this bike  ;)

This bike really is a breath of fresh air in a world where riders are forgetting how to brake, and accelerate.

Dan doesn't, and yes, I'll admit he's biased - hell, I'm sure he'll even admit that himself!

For those who need full electronic nanny controls get the 790 - and because I have one this makes me a sissy no doubt.
You also have to pay for those, mind please, there's a big price differential between the two.
But for once Yamaha brings out a bike at a fair pricepoint, and I hope for them they will sell it by the legions!
Unfortunately for them they brought it out too late - too yes, the 790 was first, and what an uproar this bike has caused!
So now they have to claw their sales back, but my guess is they will due to the format they've chosen for: simple, effective and cheap.
My bet is it'll work for them, and no, not a diehard Yammie fan here  ;)

If the number of threads about this bike on WD's is an indication of how popular this will be its going to be sold out in the first week #notanotherT7threadffs

There are a lot of threads on this bike because there is nothing else to do except post , repost and tripple post every review known to man on the net.

As with the Africa Twin , these review threads stop and actual friends reviews start, so until the bike eventually lands this is what we will be subjected to  :peepwall:

Still a good looking bike to me.

What I want in a bike
1) it must be reasonably priced
2) It must let me decide what I want to do not what it thinks I want to do
3)When I get on and press the happy button it must start and go
4) it must not break dow
5) Must have enough range to get me to the next town for petrol
6) Must not look like it has a vagina for a head light
7) Must not assist me when riding to the point that I think I can ride better than everyone else
8) Must not be made in a country that gave birth to someone who bombed half of the world in the early 40's
