Thank you all,
Im will be in High Wycombe, i see there are many trails,2 spoor there, hope not to run over any hikers, lol.
Will have to find a " Crossed up " there to make sure we allowed to ride there.
but i think its more fun telling the farmer that the GPS says .........just dont know if they will be as understanding as our farmers,
And it probably wont be a good idea to tell him im from South Africa and lost, seeings how we just kicked their arses in The World Cup "go bokke"

Jeez Andy, out of everyone I know I thought you were rock solid in SA, what a big move for you and your family, you not even renting your house to see how things go. I admire you jumping at new opportunities with both feet and giving it horns.

Personally I want to thank you for the many many organised rides that you so unselfishly put together for noobs like me when I 1st started Adventure riding which must be easily 10 years ago now, you took me to places I never knew existed and opened my eyes to this awesome lifestyle. I moved from Adventure riding to all sorts of riding and my garage swelled with bikes as the bug bit but it was all of your awesome rides through the Cederberg and the Karoo that initially got me hooked on this lifestyle.

All the best for the future, Bothasig will not be the same without the blue house that Andy lives in.

Well, if the T7 does not come to you, you can go to the T7. :ricky:

Andy, I will see you before you go, I will make a plan, as you are one of the keenest bikers, and best human beings I have had the pleasure to meet.

I will miss you.

Ag nee, man, Andy! You will be sorely missed. All the best over there. Fortunately, you're a little out of the big smoke, but don't bargain on too many accessible dirt roads...

Ag nee man!

You are a rock in the DS community of the Western Cape. You will be missed.

Good luck on the mud island and may everything you do be blessed.

Welcome to the UK.....

Not too much proper adventure riding here... call it green laning and most do so with proper off road bikes which can be registered here and licenced for the road.

But you not going to find adventure biking like you know it, does not exist here.

Farmers here are cool mostly so long as you dont muck up the fields or scare the livestock. Most farms have public pathways through their land but probably not for motocycles.

Bring a coat, its cold at the moment.

Africa ain't for sissies hey.

UK is going to be what you make of it, and with your positive, can-do attitude, backed by your lovely wife, you'll do great :thumleft:

Come visit now and then to catch some Karoo sun and heat. I'm sure we can organise you a bike to race ride :ricky:

All the best Andy for your new beginnings.  I shall remember those first newbie rides and how terrified I was and how you nonchalantly made out as if it was easy.  Five years later I still can't believe where you took us :imaposer: :imaposer:

Enjoy the new adventure Andy and there are some good twee spore if you know where to go. My advise is to join the https://www.trailriders.org/ and go with like minded people. Salisbury Plains was a big favorite of mine over the years there even though I had to travel 120 miles one way to get there  :ricky: Wales and Devon also have some good trails  :thumleft:

It was only about four years ago that I met Andy after complaining that most riders thought a breakfast run to Franschoek was an adventure and was told to go ride with Andy.   First ride out he took me over a ploughed field, through a rather large ditch full of mud and then along a tight one spoor path through thorn trees, all just to get around a fence in a farm road...but I knew from that moment on that the adventure was on, and boy has Andy shown me so much of the Western Cape and adventure, good times, good people, bashes, pans, runs,  snow, mud, wind and sand, not to mention karoo lamb, craft beer in the middle of the Cederberg, the memories just go on and on.   You can always rely on Andy to be the first person, when you come off, to take a photograph and he saved countless souls by fixing their tyres and getting machines going again, or organising the safe return of person and ride back home.  His friends, too many to count, his amazing contacts, the time you over took 2 Ducatis on Franschhoek pass and your unwillingness to be overtaken ever.    Andy thank you for introducing my favourite road  Katbakkies to me, for opening so many gates, for spraying me with  gravel as you came passed, for all your dirt I have eaten and for all the laughs we had. Thanks for the history lessons, the roads and villages discovered, the short cuts and the long way home.   Really going to miss you boet.
