I never immagined  that I would leave SA , having  lived here all my life, but got a really good job offer.

Dont know where im going to get a silencing device for my Scorpion pipes on my XT, cos I can see myself ducking down some muddy road with a cop car after me, lol.

Well Im leaving at the end of Dec.
Thanks to all of you that have ridden with me on all our fantastic rides in and around the Western Cape,
I will be missing the next Canola run , sadly as Ive done all but one of them and the next thumper Bash, and the Ec Bash, Eish ,,,,!!!!!

Oh well , I will find some two spoors in the uk to ride, I wonder if the land owners will be as under stading as our SA farmers , when i get lost and blame my GPS,
Ag , I will just gooi Afrikaans and act dumb !,, Hoe se maneer ?
Hoe se Engelsman ???

o

All the best Andy, will miss you around Cape Town!!

Maybe we should arrange another/last lunch? :)

All the best Andy. Was real fun to ride with you. As Snafu said... Maybe a last lunch sometime?

hi, i dont know you but i wish you well in the UK, you have done very well in scoring a good job, half the battle is won, you are in for a massive culture shock.it will be very interesting to hear your thoughts after the first year in the UK. So keep in touch, remember the bikes, cars have to pass road worthy every year. i think anyone going to the uk from south africa should watch the YouTube video put out by Andrew Pierre white, the overland guy. i think the title is ...why i left england. he has some good pointers to prepare for.

Thank you all,
Im will be in High Wycombe, i see there are many trails,2 spoor there, hope not to run over any hikers, lol.
Will have to find a " Crossed up " there to make sure we allowed to ride there.
but i think its more fun telling the farmer that the GPS says .........just dont know if they will be as understanding as our farmers,
And it probably wont be a good idea to tell him im from South Africa and lost, seeings how we just kicked their arses in The World Cup "go bokke"

Bloody hell Andy!!, CT's loss is our gain. I see you will be in High Wycombe. That's not too far from where I stay. You bringing the Yammie over with you? It would be good to ride with you again. When do you land here?

When in doubt...grab throttle!!!

Ok ! so this goes to show I do not read all the threads , I recently met up with Toni who when asked about you he said told me that you were leaving for the UK and I got to read this thread today, Andy all the very best in your new adventure may you meet and ride with many new WD maybe we will be getting regular news updates from you there. I was trying to think of special rides with you and realised they were all special in different ways and very enjoyable. If I knew you were leaving I would have donated my bike tent with the "hole" in it that you made with your catapult  ;) in the Tankwa. Keep in touch  :thumleft:
ROUTE DIFFICULTY:1 = tar
2 = good gravel /pillion friendly
3 = interspersed with sand, mud, sand , bush / not pillion friendly
4 = lots of sand, technical riding
5 = expert only (we are not worthy, still to meet one)

Riding with the WD over the Past 14 Years has been the most Fun Ive had in My life to date,
Meeting and riding with all of you has been a privilege .

Now I ll be missing my yearly EC Bash, Canola Run and our anual run up the " Alternative Route" to  " Die Ark" near Koringberg.
The Alternative Roure !
Eish, now that was a fun Ride, It drew 42 bikes one Sunday , just cos I called it a NUBE RIDE, , with only about three nubes.

I saw BMWs learn to swim and some riders learned to fly, otheres got picked up by ambulances. Hell Snafu came on his Sons Plastic, to ride in one of the muddiest rides we ever did on that route.

Boy, Im going to miss SA,
Cape Town ADV Riders rock.

We did 3 EC Bash trips with big groups of 18  bikes at a tim, one i took a short cut in a chopper and woke up 2 weeks later in front of theTV at home .

I hope Yamaha Helderberg gets my bike sorted out.soon.
There are alot of people out here with flat tyres I need to go and teach how its done ! Lol.
