DID rim 21inch x1.6 . Are they tough enough

Just trying to get a idea before I purchase myself a DID front rim for my 650gs.  Your thoughts .

Anything is stronger than the stock BMW Behr rims. They are made from softainium...

I can give you a good price on a Excel rim if you are interested

Then they are different to the Behr BMW 1150 rims Foxi, they are tough.  :thumleft:

My theory from recent years is that OEM's specify soft rims, good properties in low temperatures, and they bend not break, less court cases?  :sip:

They are only tough because they are thick and heavy

Maybe they even used a better quality of aluminium back then. The early 650's also seem to have slightly stronger rims than the later ones.
But the rims they make for the modern Beemers are really the softest on the market

The difference in cost would be VERY marginal, I still believe it is a bend versus crack (recall) issue.  :sip:

Ok so I have bought a DID dirt star rim and spokes . Thanks for the replies.  Will let you guys know if I am successful in building the wheel .
