XR 600R as Adventure Bike, Occasional Longer Trips.......
« on: June 27, 2020, 05:29:12 pm »
....Yay or Nay??

Will an XR 600R work as a long(ish) distance lightweight tourer, mostly gravel, obviously as little tar as possible, BUT if you do have to take it on a tar road, is it really such a dog??

What speeds can it cruise on a tar road, +- 100 or so??

Any other Pros and Cons PLEASE??

Thanks!! :thumleft:

Ofd course, hang net af hoe groot jou pens is

Maak n bleddie lekker Adv bike. 153kg dry weight, en shoc travel more than 300mm.

Sit net n FCR carb op en Bobs your uncle

Louis - daai screen.......moeilik om te kry??

Guys then - I know Hondas are reliable, but this is obviously a high power engine, different from, say, the XL 600 or the 650L, right??

How far do these 600R's usually go, and what are their weak points??

Lastly, does it have a single barrel carb, any issues with it??

Klr250. Hele paar keer
As time washes by, our footprints are all for naught

Indien jy die Yammie thumper gaan hou, dink ek op jou ouderdom moet jy ń KTM 990 kry. Daar is niks wat jou hart so laat klop as ń V-twin nie!

@petri oosthuizen I might have a screen like that.  Brand new never used. Not sure if it is exactly that model will need to check.

As di valves reg is, is di kick start glad ni n probleem ni.

Get the Yamaha tenere if you are going to do long distance trips by yourself as you won't be racing along as its very comfortable.  Nice size tank and very stable . With a modified head the 660 runs very well . XR for shorter trips .  Better still order a T7 and plan to a trip for 5 years time .
