I have broken my search down to 3 areas
Around Port Edward
Smaller less busy seaside towns, with decent internet connectivity. Low overheads like rates and taxes, land prices, etc. Would prefer to build rather than buy.

The Slow Coast is full, sorry!

I'd suggest a place north of Port Shepstone but not too far.

Anyway you can do a lot worse than our Hibiscus Coast wrt value, weather and quality of life.

Sorry to hear, like P Edward and surrounds. Also at the gate to the wild coast. Whats it like living there?  Costs?

Seeing that we are in the general area, what is Ramsgate like these days? I see plenty cheap places on sale there and I had some really good holidays there 15-20 years ago. Was also there briefly in I think 2012 for the bike week

My Boet lives in Twini just across the river from Sheppy, also says the mislikepaliteit is becoming a joke.
Plus he has had 5 washing machines and I still have my original, same goes with most metal household objects, one must factor this in as well.
He has also spent far more than I have on general upkeep on his house, wood rot, rust etc.

That is why Graafwater appeals to me, te fokken droog om iets the laat roes of vrot... :peepwall:

As die ANC in beheer is, bly weg.

Ons het so maand of twee terug gaan golf speel in Nylstroom.

We went through this exercise years ago when living in Randburg.
The idea was to build a second house and it would become the retirement home.
Went on holidays all along the coast, west and south and eventually settled on Dana Bay, Mossel Bay.
The reasons were: SWAMBO wanted to be near a good hospital, doctors and good shops.
I don't care much where I live but the weather all year round is great in Mossel Bay.
We didn't want traffic jams and this is perfect.(Hartenbos is one big traffic jam).
From Dana Bay it is 5 minutes and we're on the N2 and 7 kays later we turn off at our shopping mall.
What settled it for me is that we have some of the best dirt rides.

Hartenbos is nice, but yes, traffic is congested.
My son stays in Hartenbos, and I have noticed that the seaside portion they stay in, only has two entry/exit roads into Louis Fourie main road.
Still, plenty nice properties and close to everything required.

SWAMBO and I have been contemplating buying a fixer-upper for retirement purposes there.

I go to Hartenbos every year but refuse to go over December, it's just way too busy. It's quite full Jan-April as well actually but that's mostly pensioners in the caravan park. Doesn't affect traffic and shops too much

;) :peepwall: :lol8:
Daai kamele by Wilgewandel is faktap gery na n reŽnerige dag teen die kus!!! :P ;) :lol8:
