What are your plans for the suspension?
[/quote]

Hi I have put heavier springs in front and back - I will get Plush Rides- Mark Du plessis  to do the set up .

I am exceptionally happy with the bike, a word of advice any GYTR kit for the T700 locally is often double the price of importing the spares from Rugged Roads . More and more I import my Yamaha spares ex the UK / turnaround times and price make sense / I hate the concept it will be on back order from Japan . Bidvest needs to up its after sales support game . I paid a premium for the bike / I am happy . But see no reason to pay exorbitant prices for aftermarket goodies from Yamaha SA

We know it's a great bike, but is it worth what is costs here or are there better options??
There's a huge debate about value for money.
It's up to the individual.

Value for money, an XT660Z is a better option IMO

XT660Z is a discontinued, for SA, model.

Screw the value for money.

If you have the money and like it, buy it.

Doesn't mean that the option does not exist.
I bought a Z, long after they went out of production.

The 660z can run for decades without ever needing to open it up, so.

It's not like the T7 is lighter or has better suspension.. It has more power but that's a moot point in Yamaha rider's books

Some people just like something new, with warranty etc.
So much to do, so little time. Better get going then!

Fortunately it is NOT

1. A 990, 1090, 1190 or worse a 1290 - it is so much more nimble
2. a 690 - very noticeable in the technical side
3. and not a 530 KTm
4. and most definitely not a 790 R
5. invigoratingly powerful like a KTM

But it is

1. Well balanced
2. Very smooth
3. Comfortable
4. Light enough to look forward to the technical bits
5. The biggest revelation was how stable it was in the wind compared to a 990
6. Performance is impressive
7. Not well priced

I've updated your list  :P
But horses for courses, enjoy your lekker new steed!  :thumleft:
