KLE500 starter motor removal

Quick question on removing a KLE starter motor.
I have removed the two bolts at the back, but the starter is not pulling out as I hoped it would.
Do I need to remove the flywheel cover as well, from my diagram it looks like there might be a circlip that might have to be removed.

You need to take the cover off too remove the chain.

AFAIK the starter on the KLE is similar as the KLR layout. Get the gaskets as a precaution.

I got it out all nice n tidy.
Bike is being parted, so not reassembling.
