Yeah, that's the one. Clearly they have modified the peak and stabilized it. The desert fox one comes with a sheet of cooked lasagna.

I have the normal Desert Fox one and wonder if the peak on that is different to the carbon unit?
Peak is quite sturdy on this one

Peak is different.......

Thought I would 2c to this old topic. I got the dessert fox carbon aka Klim, aka Uvex. The peak is dreadful, as previously noted on a few threads. I tried modifying the peak to allow more air flow, but alas, I just leave the peak off and ride it like a road helmet. 2 lines of insulation tape on the top and viola.

Also have the Desert Fox Carbon, initially the peak vibrated quite a bit which can become rather annoying, but I moved it to the back position and you wouldn't believe the difference that made.  :thumleft:

I'm going to try that right away!!  The helmet is very nice and light but hell that vibration makes my brain juices go wild

A trick that works well on some vibey peaks is to stick two small wheel weights on the underside front edge of the peak - one on each side.  :thumleft:

I use an Airoh Commander Carbon. Never tried it without the peak, but I found that all the buffeting comes from the bike’s screen.
Standing up at speed, all the buffering goes away and so does most of the noise.

It was especially bad on the 990, until I cut the screen down. On the 1190, it was almost similar with the touring screen, but way, way better with the standard screen in the low position.

I like the peak, for the reasons already mentioned. Can’t say the same for the inner sun visor though. On all the helmets that I’ve owned and that had the sun visor, all were too tinted way too much. They sure take care of the bright light, but I find it difficult to see properly through them.
Does anyone know whether sun visors are available in different tints?
