So did a recent long distance loop on the DL which was enjoyable save for the wind noise of my old DSV3 helmet. I dont have a high screen (buffeting) and always ride with earplugs. But now that the DSV is pretty worn (should hace replaced it years ago), the wind noise is spoiling the experience. I use the DSV as a full face helmet and i prefer that as oppised to peaked helmets.
So which which helmets are quiet? - i know about the Schuber C5's reputation as very quiet (and expensive) but i dont like modular helmets. Have always fancied the Shoei GT Air 2, but the thing has a, in my opinion, stupid screen locking mechanism.
It seems to me that quiet helmets have proper ear cavities that are thickly padded and tight neck skirts / panels that stop air from rushing up past the jaw an neck.
Any other options to consider?
