Looks awesome.  Maybe there is hope and we can start thinking about adventuring beyond Ceres again.

Is there life beyond Ceres?? :eek7:

Hell, man, memories flooding back of my 1975 (? - I think) trip on my Bultaco. Ship from Southampton to San Sebastian, disembark up the ramp to read the instruction "Right On The Drive"  Eh?  ???. And on our way to explore the mountain range staying mostly on the Spanish side with a couple of brief crossings into France and a couple of days stay in Andorra. War being waged all around us between the Spanish military and the Basque 'terrorists'. Roads blocked off everywhere, but we blithely rode around the barriers and encountered squads of Soldiers who just looked, "Estupido Ingleses" and waved us on. Got stopped and lectured by cops on their Sanglas police bikes for riding through a mountain tunnel without lights. The glow worms on my Bultaco wouldn't have made any difference anyway, about as good as a luminous watch face. Wild camping just across the road from a huge apple orchard, when suddenly all hell broke loose in the night with what seemed to be the mother of all thunder storms. But no, there was a terrible drought, and there were clouds up above so they were firing rockets into the clouds to provoke a cloudburst. And it worked, big time! My camping gear was not of the best and we got drenched. Luckily the scorching sun next morning had everything dried out in an hour or so.

Oops, I can't go on hi-jacking someone else's thread especially since I've no pictures to post. But thanks for re kindling my memories.

Sounds like a great adventure, thx for sharing

I woke up to an empty stomach on Day3.
Also needed some coffee, but reckoned I need to get going as I do not want to run out of time again today.  :patch:

This will be a 260km day which will go right trough the Pyrenees  >:D

Leaving the camp site behind, I continued down the TET track

...which immediately became technical. These rocks were super slippery, and I felt guilty having to sit on the seat and 'walking' my bike out  ::)

the path goes up there ^^

After that uncharacteristic style 'o meister breakfast, it was time to hit the forest trails of 'parc naturel regional des pyrenees ariegeoises'
Goolge that shit and weep at its beauty  :o

I spent the better part of the morning riding these trails:

These folks had no issues rolling the logs out of the way for me. Of course the one requested that I pop a wheelie as payment  :ricky:

This was one of my favorite moments of the entire trip; seeing how this guy calls his free roaming cattle for some salty treats.
was a precious moment for me..

The picture does not remotely capture the gravitas of the surrounding mountains!

Made my way into the 1st town which reminded me of a Welsh town I once visited by the name of Betws-y-Coed

I was tempted to stop for a couple beers but wisely decided to push on.
Making my way further South:

Magical little town, high up in the hills

followed by some more stunning sceneries

Note the layer upon layer of mountains in the distance! Its insane:

I still had a lot of distance to cover but did not mind it one bit!
Such a privilege to be experiencing nature at this magnitude!

At this time of the year, the sun sets at about 22:30 which helps a lot during these long days of riding  :thumleft:

The track became very rocky at some stage and I slammed into one too many rocks, resulting in a pitch flat  :-\

Out with the tools!

It was a bit cold up here in the mountains, you might spot some snow around, and it makes for a rather kak spot to change a tube.
The conditions had me spend more time than usual on this chore but I finally got things 100% again

Which had me celebrating my success in ultimate class: sardines and whiskey  :drif:

..on the rocks
