Staying at the Desert Horse Inn near Aus a few years ago, I remember seeing lots of scorpions around the place in the evening.  This time we'll be camping - are scorpions a problem when under canvas?

Nah, they used to being under rocks, so they generally don't mind a softer roof from time to time. :imaposer: :imaposer:

I have camped in a campsite that was overrun with scorpions, small medium, large and monstrous. Didn't have any problem with them stinging us through the canvas, but have to add we were double careful about wearing shoes, cleaning out shoes before wearing them, etc.

The biggest problem is getting home with hitchhikers in your luggage and finding a parabuthus hurtling headlong around the lounge, pets in pursuit.

Farkn!  Don't want those little buggers mistaking the tent's bell for a big stone.  I'd be inside bleating like a big wuss if that happened.  Tipping out boots sounds sensible, although any creature that could survive in there deserves some credit.
