Had the 650R, now the 600R, as well as n 400R

Similar application, but I'll prefer the 600, air-cooled no fuss over the 650R liquid cooled anytime.

But the 400R is my oldtoppie bike. Light like a feather, air-cooled, kick-start only but so easy to do. 135kg wet weight, it's like candy in a weeshuis.....

@Dux , I was planning to bring the engine to you for a rebuilt...if we get the bike.!
The seller (friend of mine) is in two minds if he should let it go though...

Is the XR600R that much more "uncomfortable" than a DR600?
My 19year old son will do the commuting, not his farther!
About 15 km to Stellenbosch
What else, with dirt road touring capability would be a better option at R25k?

Mines for sale. Will drop to R35k

Iíve used the bike for mix purpose and itís awesome. Only thirsty when wide open, likes to eat tyres if you ride hard. Hard to beat the grin factor

Spent a lot of money(mechanically), running the best it has done.

Paperwork up to date.

Classic, .... If you ride a 600R or if you can have the balls to ride a 650 R @ full speed..

I challenge the softees on their 890R's with all the electronic gizmos (sorry)...  traction control "turned off" ... WTF is traction control on a 650R  ;D ;D ;D

Ride it like you stole it ... or go home ...

KLE500
KLR650

I mean, this kind of deal beats a 600R anyday of the week IMO, http://www.wilddog.za.net/forum/index.php?topic=263876.0    I picked up my kle500 for R20k and spent about R8k on it for things like tyres etc.. Its worth about R25k I suppose, bulletproof bikes that will go offroad, I did a 14 day trip through Namibia on it, no problem, comfortable and easy to ride. You not going to get that with a 600R. 600R is a lekker bike but to commute, eish, you have to really love the bike to do that.
