PE dogs - how well do you know your Turf?
« on: March 30, 2009, 10:57:36 am »
I went for a nice solo ride yesterday.

While riding I started wandering how well the PE dogs know their turf.  :peepwall:
See how many photos you can identify. ???
The winner will get a shaking torch for each correct answer over 2
(eg. For the mathematically impaired, 4 correct = 2 torches, 6 = 4 torches, etc.)
You have to arrange collection.

If you get all 10  right I’ll even let you come with next time.  :ricky: :ricky:
You can show me some places. :D

My decision is final. I don’t debate although you can try bribing. There is a 0.001% chance you will be the first person who manages to bribe me successfully. :deal:

If you can’t handle that don’t enter.
 :dousing:
I did 464km over an area of 1293km˛ in 10h45min within the map area below.

The first photo is probably one of the most photographed in PE. If you don’t know that one you need to get out more. Or read more ride reports. :mwink:
1.

The rest are not in any order otherwise it’s too easy.
(yes I know it’s a kak prize but you still got to work for it)
If you know the place but not sure of the place’s name, post the GPS co-ordinates instead (Both is preferable to avoid confusion) .  Descriptions of the area will also be considered.  I will accept if reasonably correct.

Read the above again so you sure you understand :pot:

Good luck.

[/quote

from Kareedouw you head past suuranys then through a gorge then down to the river and over a cement bridge,

then up out of the gorge and then on to Baviaans lodge or into the baviaanskloof by way of another route.

that cement bridge is just out of the photo ??

There are no short cuts to anywhere worth going!
Performance is paramount, niceties only exist if it doesn't affect performance.

Don't rush it, it's helmet time you need, not a destination. Take it easy.

Some modifications to my first post.  (ta Rone)

Position 9:  33°49'17.12"S  24°50'58.12"E  (approx. 80m east from Philips Tunnel)

(the backdrop very similar to my original answer, look at this image.  The lining of the citrus trees one of the main reasons I am changing my answer)

Position 3: 33°44'40.38"S   24°37'57.96"E (below campsite at Heron Cliff)

Position 7:  33°51'25.68"S   24°13'21.34"E  (Kouga river, 11 km north-west from Kareedouw)

Have corrected my original post also.  :thumleft:
