This is not really a ride report as such, however I went up Sani Pass last week end - in the cage unfortunately, but I thought I might let everyone know what the conditions are like.

It's a lot rougher than when I was last there 2 years ago , however the main problem one is likely to encounter is the ice on one or two of the switch backs near the top. It was catching a lot of the bikes out - going up and down.
Look out for the frozen water falls as this is generally where the ice is across the road.

I think the secret is to keep to the inside of the switch back where the 4x4's have churned up a lot of dirt. We helped quite a few bikes across the one ice section so if you battle don't panic - the 4x4 guys seem only to happy to help.
