Be careful of the words you say.
And keep them soft and sweet.
For you never know from day to day.
Which ones you'll have to eat.

Anyone read Gen Jannie Geldenhuys's bio: "At the Front" ?

Excellent read with plenty info that answers many questions I had back then...'81-'82 Ysterplaat, ... saw my first AWAC come and go, groot geheim daai tyd...
1978. It's 6am, mid winter...two up on a XL 185S ... off to my first casino ever with all of R40 and we've got a full tank of fuel, so enough to get there we reckon.... that's determination...

Other bike: '05 Honda Varadero 1000
New bike: '16 Honda Africa Twin.

AAAAH........     My home 92/93

Your daughter is sitting in my seat.....

Thx for the memory.....

My home in 1991.

Was their still an effective military post 90's as the compulsory two years ended in 1990? :pot:

Oke's use to say that you klaar in , have a hair cut, get a medical ,complete 3 months basics and then klaar out if you only did 1 year military service. :peepwall:
NCO's whom did 1 years service  completed their officers course through correspondence and received their pips in the the mail. :imaposer:

Today the criteria for acceptance into the military is that you are able to concentrate for 20 minutes non stop without worrying about food and sleep and be able to eat plenty garlic, beetroot and veggies for sustainable empowering of  colleagues.

Nowadays recruitment for hardened soldiers are often held at Grootvlei and Polsmoor.
It's not the years in your life that count, its the LIFE in your years that count.

You still remember what they use to say about a Bokkop.
I'm not totally useless - I can be used as a bad example
