Top 4 reasons to ban Pillion Riding in Karachi

Once again pillion riding (Double Sawari) is banned in Karachi. While it may cause hardships to thousands of commuters who travel on motorcycles everyday for work, study etc., ban on pillion riding was necessary because:
It (the "It" referred to means pilion riding ..I think) benefits public transport business: Considering the ever increasing cost of living, thousands attached with public transport business in Karachi are struggling to make both ends meet. Ban on pillion riding has provided them some comfort as the buses, wagons and coaches are now filled from the roof to the door stand. Let’s not consider the fact that Transport Minister of Sindh Government is himself a transporter.
It helps in Motorcycle sales: The global downturn has severely affected the sale of automobiles and motorcycles. While the US government is coming up with bail-out packages worth billions of dollars, our government has an innovative approach. The ban on pillion riding will now push the commuters to buy motorcycles and hence will help motorcycle manufacturers and sales outlets.
It supports Traffic Police: The traffic police of Karachi is looking for new ways to extort the citizens and ban on pillion riding as provided them with another money minting opportunity. They had a field day yesterday when government announced sudden ban on pillion riding and bike riders were caught unaware. In days to come, traffic police will always be on hunt for poor sods riding double on bikes, instead of doing what they are paid to do, who will be riding the pillions.
It is Shariah Compliant: As noticed by Fasee at KMB, pillion riding gives the WRONG impression, due to its posture of two men in a very WRONG way. So, the ban on pillion riding is totally Shariah compliant.
